We are excited to announce the launch of the MIT-Kalaniyot program’s 2024 call for applications from sabbatical scholars and postdoctoral fellows. Through these programs, we aim to strengthen the Jewish and Israeli MIT campus community while deepening ties with Israeli researchers.

About MIT-Kalaniyot

The MIT-Kalaniyot program is dedicated to fostering collaboration between MIT and Israeli researchers across all fields of study. By bringing established researchers and promising early-career researchers to MIT, we aim to create lasting connections and expand the network of MIT faculty collaborating with Israeli colleagues.

Two Exciting Opportunities

1. MIT-Kalaniyot Sabbatical Scholars Program

  • Eligibility: Faculty and researchers with sabbatical-eligible appointments at Israeli research institutions
  • Duration: Up to one full calendar year (minimum two academic terms, one fall and one spring, although not necessarily in that order)
  • Stipend: Up to $40,000 for living expenses, plus full MIT medical insurance coverage
  • Application Deadline: December 15, 2024, 11:59 PM Eastern Time

2. MIT-Kalaniyot Postdoctoral Fellows Program

  • Eligibility: Recent PhD graduates (within one year) or those about to graduate from Israeli universities
  • Duration: Two-year appointment
  • Funding: $70,000 annual stipend, benefits, up to $10,000 relocation reimbursement, and $5,000 discretionary funds
  • Application Deadline: December 15, 2024, 11:59 PM Eastern Time
