We are pleased to announce that Kalaniyot has received a strong endorsement from the Association of University Heads, Israel (VERA). In a letter sent by Professor Daniel Chamovitz, President of Ben-Gurion University and Chair of VERA, the organization recognizes Kalaniyot’s commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and supporting Israeli scholars.

“At a time when collaborations with Israeli academics are becoming increasingly fragile, the Kalaniyot program stands as a testament to the enduring strength of partnerships based on shared knowledge and mutual respect,” noted Professor Chamovitz in his endorsement letter.

Prof. Chamovitz expressed his hope that the success of the MIT-Kalaniyot Program “will inspire similar efforts at peer institutions.” He also stated, “I am equally confident that this initiative will resonate with Jewish philanthropists in the U.S., who recognize the importance of supporting such impactful, forward-looking efforts.”

The endorsement from VERA underscores the importance of maintaining strong academic ties and fostering scholarly exchange. As Kalaniyot continues to grow, we remain committed to our mission of creating meaningful opportunities for academic collaboration and supporting excellence in research.

We look forward to welcoming future cohorts of Israeli scholars to MIT and continuing to build bridges through academic excellence and collaboration.
